One obligation chain
How the Corporate Tax obligations connect
UAE Corporate Tax is a direct tax on the net income of corporations and other businesses. The standard rates are 0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000 and 9% above that amount.
The practical sequence is registration, reliable records, a supported calculation, then filing for the relevant tax period. The right starting point depends on what has already been completed, the applicable status and any deadline shown on the taxpayer’s record or an FTA decision.

Registration
The starting point for a new entity, an unregistered business, an in-scope natural person or an application already under review.
TaxReady prepares the applicant record and the agreed EmaraTax application.
Return preparation and filing
Starts with the accounting record. Accounting income may need adjustments for reliefs, deductions, financing, tax losses, related parties and connected persons.
TaxReady prepares the accounting-to-tax reconciliation, calculation, working papers and filing pack. The standard deadline is nine months after the tax period ends. If records are incomplete, bookkeeping support may need to come first.
Defined Corporate Tax advice
A defined review of a transaction, status, election or technical position the accounts do not settle, including tax groups, restructuring relief, financing, tax losses or transfer pricing.
The output records the question, facts, sources and open assumptions.

Facts before labels
When the standard route needs more facts
Review the business facts and applicable rules for the Corporate Tax treatment.
Free-zone businesses and QFZP status
A Free Zone Person is within the Corporate Tax regime and generally needs to register. The 0% treatment available to a Qualifying Free Zone Person applies to Qualifying Income when the applicable conditions are met.
Natural persons carrying on business
A natural person can fall within Corporate Tax when conducting a Business or Business Activity in the UAE and related turnover exceeds AED 1 million in a Gregorian calendar year. Salary and qualifying personal investment or real-estate investment income are treated differently from business turnover.
Family foundations and similar structures
A foundation, trust or similar structure may require review of its legal personality, beneficiaries, activities and assets. An eligible structure may apply for treatment as an Unincorporated Partnership.

Corporate Tax FAQs
Is Corporate Tax registration the same as filing?
No. Registration establishes the person’s Corporate Tax record. Filing reports the position for a particular tax period after the relevant accounts and tax adjustments have been prepared.
Who generally needs to register for UAE Corporate Tax?
Generally, Taxable Persons must register, including UAE companies and Free Zone Persons. Natural-person, exempt-person and non-resident cases depend on their facts and the current rules.
Does every free-zone company qualify for 0%?
No. A Qualifying Free Zone Person may receive 0% treatment on Qualifying Income only when the relevant conditions are met. It does not automatically extend to all income.
Does Corporate Tax apply to an individual?
It can apply to a natural person conducting a Business or Business Activity in the UAE when related turnover exceeds AED 1 million in a Gregorian calendar year. Salary and qualifying personal investment or real-estate investment income are outside that business-activity test.
When is a Corporate Tax Return normally due?
The standard deadline is nine months after the end of the relevant tax period. Confirm the registered period and check for any applicable FTA decision before calculating the date.
